TEHRAN -- A senior Iranian military commander says the Army’s Ground Forces will stage a major missile exercise in the central province of Isfahan in late May.

“The exercise, codenamed Beit-ul-Muqaddas 27, will be held in Kashan’s Maranjab and Isfahan’s Nasrabad on May 23-24,” Ground Forces Commander Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan said.

He added that the ground forces have improved their rocket and missile capabilities which would be put to the test during the maneuvers, Press TV reported on Tuesday.

“Given the conditions of the region, missile units of the Army’s Ground Forces will take part in the exercise with full force,” the commander said.

Pourdastan further said that the forces will also stage electronic warfare in Isfahan.
